Gerberas and Daisies Planter Box Card for Colour INKspiration #75

Welcome to addinktive designs and the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge.

You can find Colour INKspiration Challenges on Facebook and there are two challenges every month (on the second and fourth Wednesdays).

Today’s bright and cheerful inspiration pic was sourced from Pinterest by CI Crew Member, Cathy Pinchbeck. I absolutely LOVE it.

I nearly pulled out my Adirondack Chair from the Seasonal Layers Dies but then my mind wandered off to a planter box full of gerberas and daisies. Punching out all those colourful flowers took my mind off the fact that Tassie has been in Stage 3 of the Pandemic Response for a week now and we’ve still got at least three to go! Restrictions are tightening every day and that’s okay; it needs to be done. The sooner we get through this the better. I’m so thankful to have a warm and sunny craft room to retreat to.

The challenge for #CI75 is to make a paper craft project using the chosen colour combination, Daffodil Delight, Call Me Clover, Gorgeous Grape, Melon Mambo and Mango Melody; you may also add Whisper WhiteVery Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black and metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Shaded Spruce instead of Call Me Clover … you get the drift)I did cheat a little this time and added a touch of Early Espresso Ink and some woodgrain.

From the bird’s eye view you can see I have made two large gerberas (Melon Mambo and Daffodil Delight), three medium gerberas (two Gorgeous Grape and one Mango Melody) and four medium daisies (two Very Vanilla, one Mango Melody and one Melon Mambo). I’ve used the Daisy Punch, Medium Daisy Punch and 1-1/8″ Scallop Circle Punch to create them. The Call Me Clover leaves were cut using the leafy dies from Poppy Moments, embossed with the Subtle 3D Embossing Folder and sponged with CMC Ink.

You can watch this Stampin’ Up! ® Tutorial to learn how to make the daisies. I couldn’t find the link when I made mine, so I had to improvise.

If I had to pick a favourite stamp set from the Annual Catalogue it would have to be Daisy Lane; it’s what I’ve used to stamp the flowers and sentiment with.

This box card will require a custom sized envelope as it measures approximately (H) 6″(15cm) x (W) 6-3/4″ (16.5cm) when folded flat.

I hope you can join us this fortnight for our latest colour challenge.

Even though the Crew are from the South Pacific Region, the challenge is an international one; so if you love all things Stampin’ Up! ®, please feel free to play along. You don’t need a blog to enter. Click on the badge below to take you to our Facebook group –

Today’s Planter Box Card is an original design based on measurements from my Poppies Planter Box Tutorial. For more details on what I used to create this project, please check out the Products List at the end of this post.
