All Dressed Up – Box with Lid

I’m back after an unplanned long break away from my craft room. Gosh, I posted seven times when we were travelling in our Motorhome but after returning home, I ‘hit the ground running’. Life has been a bit hectic just catching up on chores, visiting my mum, helping to organise a local event etc. then in a matter of days, life as we knew it suddenly changed; Covid 19 has been declared a Global Pandemic and our Local Government has declared a State of Emergency.

Social distancing and self isolation (for some) are the new norm. Last night all the constant media attention about the ‘Corona Virus’ started to ‘get to me’. Today I was determined that I was going to spend the afternoon in my craft room and tune out a little from the woes of the world. Hubby went kayaking and I watched an instructional video on You Tube by UK Artisan Design Team Member, Emma Goddard, to make a Box with a Lid using the ‘All Dressed Up Dies’ and a ‘Stitched Nested Labels Die’ (4″ width). It was a bit long  for me (filmed live) as I was itching to craft, so I did fast forward some bits so I could get to my craft room ASAP.

The Best Dressed Suite Bundle arrived on my doorstep a few days ago in good time for me to prepare for a Craft Class which was scheduled for tomorrow … sadly that isn’t happening now. I had two other projects in mind and will hopefully share those with you another day.

As I didn’t have a class to prepare for, I decided that Emma’s ‘All Dressed Up’ Box with the Lid was the perfect project for me to try with this suite – it’s such a great design!

Of course I changed things up a little from the two examples that Emma shared, with a slight variation of some of the punches and dies for the flowers –

I hadn’t made paper flowers like that for such a long time and really enjoyed changing the purse die-cuts into a box with a lid. Thanks, ‘Coastal Crafter’ for such a great idea!
