My First Card Class for 2019

I know, I know … it’s nearly June and I’ve just held my first card class for 2019. It was a long time coming but it’s been a busy year and things are getting back on track.

At the beginning of last year I got my craft room ‘superficially sorted’ with lots of new storage units etc. I still had a mountain of craft supplies to sort through and the ‘surplus’ ended up in boxes in the garage. This year I decided to bring all that ‘stuff’ into my craft room and ‘start over’ which lead me to rearranging the entire layout and down a path of ‘no return’. I am trying to apply the motto – Organised clutter is still clutter! Last night every bone and muscle in my body ached but it will be worth the effort when it’s all finished. I won’t post any pics until I’ve completed the job as the ‘before’ shots aren’t pretty! Oh and did I mention that we had to get the pest control guy in twice to get rid of a large ant colony that enjoyed living in the skirting boards of my craft room – how rude!

This year I’ve done a bit more relief teaching (helped pay for those overseas SU Events), we bought a Motorhome (had two trips in it so far), my mum was quite unwell for a while (thankfully she’s on the mend now) and I spent seven weeks preparing for an ‘On Stage Presentation’ in Auckland, NZ. I wondered whether I would ever ‘get going’ with card classes again!

My recent ‘Last Chance Products’ Class was held around my kitchen table over three sessions. This is the card that I designed using the ‘Wonderful Romance’ Bundle. I’m a bit sad that these stamps and dies won’t be in the new catalogue but excited about some gorgeous new bundles that will become available NEXT WEEK! – Woohoo! Can’t wait.

It was my intention to highlight 3 retiring stamp sets but in the lead up to class our daughter decided to move ‘house’ and that was a huge ‘curve ball’ thrown in with 6 days of shopping for furniture (her previous unit was furnished) and moving her stuff to a house only one suburb out from Launceston city. What’s a girl to do?

Thankfully, my Paper Pumpkin Kit arrived the day before class and I also used some new laser cut cards (from the upcoming Bird Ballad Suite).

Have you got yours? Only available while stocks last!

I was really pleased that I decided to share my new ‘pretties’ with the ladies – as a result I sold a few bundles and kits, got pre-orders for 5 tins of cards and managed to sell some second hand stamps from previous catalogues. To top it all off … I gained a new recruit and crafting friend. That’s team member number 4 in the AddINKtive Designers. Here’s what we made –

I didn’t get a photo of all the attendees that day but managed to snap a couple of pics as a memento –

The ladies made a simpler version of a card I shared in my last blog post and also received the instructions on how to make a Centre Panel Tent Card

As a result of last week’s class, I’m feeling rather rejuvenated and am looking forward to getting back into a more organised and spacious craft room.

  1. I need to declutter too! Loads of unused unloved stuff in my craftroom (need I say house in general!).
