A Flowerpot Easel Card for a Couple of Card Challenges

Hi there and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. It’s been a while … life has been busy with holidays and spending time with family, preparing for an upcoming trip to the UK, sorting through cupboards at home in an effort to declutter and walking to help shed those unwanted kilos!

I hadn’t felt like making cards, preferring to knit while I relaxed in front of the television at night. Today was the first time in a very long while that I felt the desire to venture into my craft room to create something with paper and stamps.

I went looking for some card challenges for inspiration and decided on two of my favourites to ‘help’ create this Flowerpot Easel Card.

I was drawn to the bright and colourful palette for Challenge #315 at As You See It and gathered together a variety of old and new products to create this flowerpot full of blooms.

3/2/24 Update – Thanks so much for the Honorable Mention

The second challenge focuses on the fun fold element of my card; I love seeing what the ladies at Creative Creases create and they are up to their 74th Challenge. It’s a challenge that is close to my heart as I also love to make cards with fun folds.

It was very satisfying to make a card and actually enjoy the process. My mojo had taken a bit of a dive of late but I’m pleased to say that I’m keen to get back into it!

3/2/24 – A shout out to the ladies at Creative Creases – Thanks so much for the ‘pick’; I look forward to being a Guest Designer in the future.

This flowerpot easel card is based on my tutorial below but I’ve switched up some of the products to create a slightly different look.

  1. It was helpful to hear that you also felt a lack of desire to create cards for a bit. Sometimes I also can go for a time without going to my work area to create something. As always, I love your design! I’ll get to my desk this weekend to see if I have these products you used, and if not, do I have something that will work as a likeness. Thank you for sharing your beautiful work & amazing talent! ❤️

  2. Bronwyn, I am thrilled you chose to play at Creative Creases! Your ability to create spectacular fun folds always impresses me. Glad your mojo has returned but also glad you got that needed respite.

  3. I was all prepared to say how lovely it was to see you back in the gallery, Bronwyn. Then I read that you’d lost your mojo for a while, so I’m doubly glad to have you back! Especially since you’ve made such a cheerful and joyful creation with our colours. Thanks for playing with us again at As You See It. I hope the mojo stays found. 🙂

  4. Bronwyn, your flower pot just has a compelling presence! I love the fun fold and the way you used our colours in perfect balance! And the texture on the pot is lovely! Thanks for joining our gallery for our colour challenge!

  5. Oh my gosh! That’s just the cutest thing! One of the most fun easels I think I’ve ever seen!! Thanks so much for sharing it with us at Creative Creases this week! 🙂

  6. Wow! What a stunning card! The embossing on the base adds such a pretty touch to this amazing fun fold easel card with that gorgeous flowerpot full of loveliness! Thanks so much for sharing your gorgeous card at Creative Creases!

  7. So super cute, Bronwyn – I love this fun fold design, and those In Bloom dies are STILL in my favorites! So bright and cheery – and so glad it helped give the creative mojo a boost! Yay! Thanks so much for playing my colors at As You See It!

  8. Cute, cute, cute!! Oh, your adorable flower pot easel card is exactly what I need to see right now. We have been dark and gloomy for too long here in Chicago. Your color choices are just lovely together, too. I understand your need to step away from your craft room when other things need to be done. Stress does little for our creativity! I have stepped down from two challenge teams this month and it has helped me as well. Thank you for playing with the Creative Creases Challenge, and I hope you can join us again soon. We really appreciate your support!
