Welcoming Window for Colour INKspiration #94

Hey there, I’ve officially broken my own record for the longest time that it’s taken me to make a card. Yep, I’m either crazy or super dedicated to my craft. Welcome to my blog; today I’m sharing a 3D card for the latest challenge at Colour INKspiration Challenges.

You can find Colour INKspiration Challenges on Facebook and there are  two challenges every month (on the second and fourth Wednesdays).

The challenge for #CI94 is to make a paper craft project using all the colours from the chosen colour combination, Seaside Spray, Mango Melody, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and Misty Moonlight; you may also add Basic White, Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Pumpkin Pie instead of Mango Melody)

Misty Moonlight and Seaside Spray are two of my current favourite Stampin’ Up! ® colours so of course I had to join in with this one! I was keen to try out the Welcoming Window Bundle from the SU Mini Catty.

So how long did it take me to make this card? Well I started at 11:30 in the morning and got to bed at around 2:30 am! I ate a quick lunch and got hubby to get a takeaway dinner for us that night – all up it took around 14 hours to make. A lot of time was taken deliberating over the layout and then there were lots of die-cutting and assembly involved with this little beauty.

My grown up daughter told me it looked like a ‘lego set’ but with paper. I think I’ll take that as a compliment.

The purpose of this card was three-fold – 1. To complete a DT card for Colour INKspiration #94,   2. To make a Mother’s Day card for my lovely mum (nice & early) and   3. As an alternative project to a card fold that I have designed for the March Edition of The Dimensionals Tutorial Bundle (release date – 1st March at 10pm AEDT).

This version doesn’t have box inserts inside because I ran out of ‘puff’ – maybe next time. I thought there were plenty of images to see on this 360 degrees, 3D card. In mentioning this fact to hubby, he cleverly suggested it could hold a tealight instead. I certainly didn’t marry him just for his good looks. 😂

INKspired to join the challenge? It’s so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations from the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page. Then you have until Monday, 8th March, 7pm (AEDT) to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don’t have to have a blog to participate but if you do, you can link back to your post.
