My Favourite Projects for 2020

Hi there; welcome to AddINKtive Designs. It’s that time of the year when I share my favourite projects for the last 12 months and reflect on the highlights of 2020.

Firstly, I want to say a huge thank you to my SU Team Leader, fellow DT members of Colour INKspiration and The Dimensionals and to everyone that has supported me by either leaving encouraging comments, purchasing Stampin’ Up! ® products through my on-line store, following me on INSTA, You Tube, Facebook, Bloglovin’ or Pinterest and for purchasing my card tutorials. I really appreciate each and every one of you.

I hope you enjoy looking over my favourites for 2020 –

I’ve linked back to every blog post so you can read more info about each project if you’d like to.

January

Let’s start with January – the release of the Mini Catalogue brought with it one of my favourite bundles – Grace’s Garden. I wrote a tutorial for my Grace’s Garden Double Z-Fold Card; it was the best selling tutorial in the shop for 2020.

February

It was this Pop-Out Panel Card for Colour INKspiration #71 that re-kindled an interest in this popular card fold (one that I designed in 2019); it’s still one of my favourites.

March

By the time mid-March rocked around I was struggling to find my ‘mojo’. A Global Pandemic was wreaking havoc and our government had declared a National State of Emergency. To escape from the constant ‘news’ about COVID 19, I decided to  watch a You Tube Video by the talented, Emma Goddard (Coastal Crafter) and made this All Dressed Up Box with a Lid.

April

A week into Lockdown the gorgeous, vivid, colour palette for Colour INKspiration helped to brighten up a bad situation; I made a Gerbera and Daisies Planter Box Card using the beautiful colour combo.

May

By the time May had rocked around, The Dimensionals had already released 4 Tutorial Bundles! Collaborating with three other Stampin’ Up! ® Demo friends to bring a monthly, 3D Tutorial Bundle was one of the best things that came out of 2020! Our May bundle with a floral theme was the best selling bundle this year. I followed Nicole Wilson’s Tutorial to make this Forever Fern Double Flower Box Card.

June

Thankfully, COVID restrictions had started to ease towards the end of June and we were able to dine out in a restaurant for hubby’s 60th Birthday. To celebrate I made him this cute, Whale of a Time Peek-a-Boo Card following Sharni Haines tutorial from The June Dimensionals Tutorial Bundle.

July

In July I designed a Planter Box Extended Z-Fold Card and made a few different versions. This Boho Indigo Card was my absolute favourite and was the card that received the most likes on INSTA for 2020.

August

Following on from the popularity of the previous month’s design, I created a Double Planter Box ‘M’ Fold Card in August. I resigned from Stampin’ Up! ® on the 19th as I wanted to create my ‘own path’ with my card tutorial business.

September

This Chalkboard Easel Card based on a tutorial by Debbie Henderson was made as a ‘prop’ for my talk at church for ‘Home Grown Sunday’ in September.

October

I had a thing for those cute images in the Gnome for the Holidays Stamp Set and made a ‘Snowflake Splendor’, Toadstool Pop-Up Card based on the more traditional Christmas version that I had created.

November

For The Dimensionals November Tutorial Bundle, I made this cute Triple Easel Card using the Celebration Labels Dies. I had a bit of an ‘epiphany’ this month and decided to re-join Stampin’ Up! ®.

December

The Quite Curvy Bundle came in my ‘Starter Kit’ or in my case, the re-starter kit and I wanted to make a Double Z-Fold Box Card using this fabulous new bundle to kick off the month of December.

Well that’s a wrap for 2020. I hope you’ve enjoyed this little trip down memory lane with me.

This year has been a difficult one for many people. For us, however, we just got to hit the big PAUSE BUTTON for a while. I was so thankful that hubby and I had retired from our careers in Health and Education long before COVID 19 decided to rear it’s ugly head.

During lockdown I wrote a lot of card tutorials and since travel restrictions have eased, hubby and I have had 3 small trips in our motorhome within our state. Fortunately we hadn’t planned any overseas trips for 2020, however, our big trip to the mainland of Australia had to be postponed. Who knows what 2021 will bring; I’m just hoping that it will be a year of pleasant surprises!

I’ve had family staying over Christmas so I took a bit of a break from paper crafting but I’ll be back in my craft room very soon to share some fun projects with you. Expect to see me more ‘active’ on You Tube in 2021, as well as sharing some ideas for Stamping on the Go (in our Motorhome), some card techniques, creative card folds, Colour INKspiration, Card Sketches and a whole lot more. I may even do the unthinkable – a Facebook Live!

Bring on the New Year.
