Beautiful Garden Gateway with Stone Path – a 3D Z-Fold Card

Okay, I admit that the obsession I have with these Garden Gateway Dies is real. Grace’s Garden Bundle is, without a shadow of a doubt, my current favourite in the Stampin’ Up! ® Mini Catalogue.

I love so many of the products within its pages that there are just not enough hours in the day to do all the projects that are swirling around in my head! In my opinion, it’s the best mini catty ever.

When I witnessed the lovely Jacque Williams Million Dollar Sales Celebrations in Orlando, Florida in November, 2018, I started to envisage what beautiful stamp set she would design and was absolutely gob smacked when I saw Beautiful Moments’ in the catalogue. It was everything and more than I imagined. Congratulations, Jacque! So what better idea than to combine the two sets to create another fun, 3D, Z-Fold Card (with the additional base – stone pathway).

Project Details –

  • The Petal Pink Brick Wall was sponged with Crumb Cake Ink.
  • The door was made from the woodgrain paper from the Pressed Petals DSP, handle from the Sliding Doors Dies (with Champagne Rhinestones), window using the retired Home Sweet Home Thinlits, the current Perennial Essence Vellum Card Stock and the Garden Gateway Dies.
  • The vines were sponged with Old Olive Ink.
  • The girls dresses were paper pieced from the Perennial Essence DSP.
  • Stamped images were coloured with a variety of Stampin’ Blends.
  • The two tall flower pots at the front door are from the Vibrant Vases Stamp Set.
  • Before stamping I wiped off the ink from the ‘buckets’ that the two girls were holding and added ‘shoes’ to their feet in order to switch from a beach scene to a garden setting.
  • The stone pathway was sponged with Gray Granite Ink. The instructions for the extended card base can be found in The Dimensionals, February, 2020 Tutorial Bundle in my Power of Hope 3D, Z-Fold Card instructions. This time I only used half of the extended base area.
  • I cut away some of the Window Sheets at the front gate to give a clearer view of the garden path.

It’s fun to make improvements to the construction of a card and today’s card is a result of a few modifications along the way –

  1. My first project using the Grace’s Garden Bundle was an engagement card I made for my niece and her fiancé and I combined it with the sentiments from Beautiful Bouquet.
  2. Secondly, I tweaked the layout slightly and wrote a tutorial for this style of card (link can be found below).
  3. Then I spotted a gorgeous card that Bronwyn Frankham, a fellow Aussie Demo made using my Grace’s Garden Double Z-Fold Card Tutorial and she had added a door at the end of the gateway. With her permission, I have CASED that idea and have featured her card in today’s blog post.
  4. I added an extended card base to my original double-z-fold, box card design for the Power of Hope, 3D Z-Fold Card that I made instructions can be found in The Dimensionals first tutorial bundle.
  5. Lastly, an unfinished card from my stamp class was sitting on my desk so last week I decided to make something a little different and hence, today’s share, the Beautiful Garden Gateway with Stone Path – a 3D Z-Fold Card.

So there you have it. I think I’ll give my Garden Gateway Dies a little break for now but no doubt you’ll be seeing more projects in the weeks to come.

This style of card is not difficult to make but it does take a couple of hours to put together. My stamp class ladies were really pleased and proud of their finished projects –
