CASEing the Catty Challenge #234 – Colours in the Pressed Petals DSP

I haven’t entered a challenge for quite some time but the latest one at CASEing the Catty lured me in this week as the challenge is to use the colours of the Pressed Petals Designer Series Paper as inspiration – Crumb Cake, Daffodil Delight, Merry Merlot, Mossy Meadow, Night of Navy, Pear Pizzazz, Rococo Rose, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla (and layouts from pages 72-74). This DSP is a new favourite of mine; so much to ❤️ so how could I resist!

I held my monthly stamp class yesterday and my attendees made Planter Box Cards using the gorgeous new Daisy Lane Bundle (stamp set and punch). After dinner I sat down to finish the one that I’d started to make as a ‘demo’ in class and decided to concentrate on the DSP colours for CTC #234. I used all the colours except for Merry Merlot and Night of Navy for my ‘paper flower arrangement’.

One of the cards on page 72 of the catty has a Braided Linen Trim Bow so I added that to the main daisy on the front of my card. The Pressed Petals Specialty Washi Card on page 73 was inspiration for adding some Mossy Meadow leaves behind some of the daisies and some Perennial Essence Floral Centres to the two larger daisies (It’s hard to spot but I coloured the floral centre on the Daffodil Delight Daisy with a Dark Soft Suede Stampin’ Blend (A detailed project supplies list can be found at the end of this post).

I love making Planter Box Cards as they are a great gift to give to someone special for a birthday, Mother’s Day etc. or to someone in hospital as some wards don’t allow fresh flowers or some people may have allergies. It’s a card and a gift all in one that will last for many years! Handmade is always Heartmade.
