Auckland On Stage Stamp Set Showcase for ‘Above the Clouds’ Bundle – Avocado Punch Art

Hi there peeps! Welcome to the third instalment of projects from the Above the Clouds Stamp Set Showcase.

I had so much fun presenting some project ideas at Auckland On Stage; here are the step by step instructions for the Avocado Punch Art using the Hot Air Balloon Builder Punch. Enjoy!

While eating breakfast one morning this idea popped into my head. So, I hope it will bring a smile to your face. I stamped …

  1. The solid balloon image with Pear Pizzazz Ink
  2. Fussy cut then rounded off the top section, sponge daubed around the edge
  3. Punched out a ‘balloon’ from Garden Green Card Stock
  4. Fussy cut the top, sponge daubed around the edge
  5. Layered the two pieces together
  6. With the moon/sun and splatter stamps from Waterfront, I stamped with Soft Suede and Pear Pizzazz Inks and fussy cut.
  7. Then I drew a smiley face with a journaling pen
  8. Ta dah and here you “Avo” bit of punch art fun. Here’s the project I made – a rectangular box card full of avocados – I’ve added the ‘AVO’ with the alphabet stamps from ‘Make A Difference’.

The original card I photographed for the SU Pinterest Boards had avocado pits inked with Early Espresso and punched out with the 3/4″ Circle Punch. After I discovered that the circle punch was retiring, I fussy cut around the moon/sun stamped images from Waterfront and decided to switch the colour to Soft Suede!

There are so many great avocado memes on Pinterest that you could really have a lot of fun expanding on this idea! #youreagoodfat  ….

Avo great time stamping!

If you’re looking for a tutorial for a RECTANGULAR BOX CARD you can check out the one I wrote for the Butterfly Gala Stamp Set. Just substitute the DSP for some stamped Buffalo Check and switch the butterflies and leaves for avocados. I used the Pretty Label Punch to punch out the sentiment from Beautiful You.
