Colour INKspiration #95 – Butterfly Brilliance, Upright Z-Fold Card with Alcohol Ink Art Background

Welcome to my blog; today I’m sharing an Upright Z-Fold Card for the latest challenge at Colour INKspiration Challenges. 

You can find Colour INKspiration Challenges on Facebook and there are two challenges every month (on the second and fourth Wednesdays).

The challenge for #CI95 is to make a paper craft project using all the colours from the chosen colour combination, Gold, Balmy Blue, Highland Heather, Gorgeous Grape and Blackberry Bliss; you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Sahara Sand and other Metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Pool Party instead of Balmy Blue).

The vibrant colour palette inspired me to re-visit the Alcohol Ink Art Technique to create a background to my fluttering butterflies.

The butterflies are from the newly released set of dies called Brilliant Wings and oh my wordy, I thought I didn’t need any more butterflies until this gorgeous collection fluttered into my life.

The card fold is CASED from the ‘Above the Clouds’ version I designed in 2019 for a presentation at Auckland On Stage Live. Reminiscing over that event brings back some very fond memories of pre-pandemic times!

Last year I made a video tutorial to demonstrate my version of the Alcohol Ink Art Technique. I didn’t add any Shimmer Paint to my card for CI#95 but I did give the large background piece a good coating of Clear Wink of Stella instead.
