Hi there and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’m so excited about a card contest (which is new to me) that I recently discovered through INSTA.
“It’s the annual Card Design Superstar contest over on the MFT Stamps Blog.
They recognise and appreciate that there are many different card-making styles — each being unique and relevant, so in an effort to encourage as many as possible to feel welcome and to participate, they’re continuing with the format of breaking the contest into three separate categories. That means you have a chance to shine in a specific category or by displaying your versatility in all three, but it also means that they have a HUGE array of prize opportunities!
You have the chance to be selected as one of FIFTEEN 2020 Card Design Superstars (five winners from each of three categories) and win a $250 shopping spree from My Favorite Things! You’ll be able to use your prize to choose from hundreds of products included in the exclusive My Favorite Things line. In addition to the fifteen superstars, they’ll also be randomly selecting one winner per category to win a $100 shopping spree — that’s over $4,000 in prizes!”
The three categories are – Clean & Simple Genius, Colouring Virtuoso and Innovation Master. I chose the latter category –
Innovation Master
Here’s what the blurb for that category says –
“We’re gaga for specialty cards. If designs featuring sliders, shakers, fancy folding, or 3D elements are your thing, have we got the contest for you! Let’s see your brain-bending looks! Balancing an elaborate idea with pitch-perfect execution and an eye for design is a true skill — one we know you’re up to the task to demonstrate”.
I love making 3D cards and had just made one with MFT’s Zippy Zebras when I saw the call out for the contest. That was a few days ago and hubby and I were away in our RV at a nearby beach; I didn’t have the supplies to fulfil all the requirements that were needed to enter the contest, so as soon as we arrived home yesterday, I headed out to buy some MFT patterned paper from my local scrapbooking store (Ashcraft & Gifts). The intention was to buy some cute striped paper and make a similar card to the one that I had made while on holiday, except this time it would be made with MFT products only.
Well … I got a little distracted in the My Favorite Things section and came home with some new stamps and dies to create this Baby Crib Z-Fold Card instead-
I fell in love with the Hello, Little One Stamps and Dies and also thought that the Garden Gate Die that I had spotted would make a great 3D baby crib. Then I needed some labels dies … oh! … and of course some patterned paper. So I completely ‘changed course’ and went about designing a card using these fun products –
It’s a little daunting putting myself out there but you have to be ‘in it’ for a chance to ‘win it’. This card will be winging its way to the Sunshine Coast in Queensland to congratulate our niece and her fiancee on the birth of their gorgeous baby boy.
Thanks so much for visiting my blog today,
Good luck with your new challenge. Hope you win.
I LOVED your zippy zebras!! Maybe with a baby zebra hidden behind some greenery!? Good Luck! Not that you need it. Following your site I am sure you can come up with winners in every category!
What a gorgeous card. You have picked the pefect category for your card. You certainly make awesome 3D cards. Best of luck with the challenge.
