‘Vanessa’ Butterfly Double Easel Card

Hello and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. Tonight I’m sharing a card that I made for the October, Paper Rose Monthly Challenge.

The theme is Birds & Butterflies so I decided to showcase the Paper Rose, Vanessa Butterfly (Small) Dies on a Double Easel Card.

I have a small collection of Paper Rose products (mostly Australiana designs) and found the Leafy Circle and Blossom Branch Dies, along with the Happy Birthday Script Stamp and Textures 1.0, 6×6″ Paper Collection in my stash to use in the design. A very large circle die (retired SU) was used to frame the Leafy Circle die-cut.

The intricate butterflies were cut from different coloured foils and layered over some vellum (plain butterfly die) that I coloured with Stampin’ Blends (alcohol markers) and brushed with Clear Wink of Stella Glitter.

Iridescent Rhinestones were added to the Petal Pink blossoms and Basic Pearl Jewels to the Soft Succulent leaves for some extra bling.

The actual card fold is based on my Butterfly Brilliance Double Easel Card Tutorial –

  1. My daughter’s birthday is in a few days and I’ve procrastinated making her card. Must be because this is the one! Her name is Vanessa. Do you know Vanessa means the butterfly?🦋 I was sad to find out I’d have to pay for the tutorial, though.

A girl has to make a living … designing cards and writing tutorials is what I do. It takes a lot of brain power to design cards and figure out the measurements, take photos, write detailed instructions etc. For less than the cost of a ‘take away cup of coffee’ you can have access to one or two of my tutorials and in turn it helps me with the increasing costs of maintaining this website. Currently, I am not associated with any craft companies, therefore I don’t earn a commission through product sales or affiliate links.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave some comment love. I read and appreciate each one. Thanks for visiting addINKtive designs.
