Hello and welcome to AddINKtive Designs.
Watching video tutorials by Jo Rice has quickly become one of my favourite pastimes. I absolutely love her laid back, casual style, her gorgeous English accent and the fun techniques that she shares. My ‘brew’ of choice is coffee but I do try and refrain from eating a ‘cheeky biscuit’ while I’m crafting. 😉
After attending an Art Journal Class last month at Bev’s Cross Crafts in Spreyton, I’ve become quite taken with Lavinia Stamps. Even though I’ve been stamping for 14 plus years, I feel like I have my ‘L’ Plates on as this ‘style’ is a big stray from my usual 3D card making and I’m loving every minute of it! I have no doubt that the two styles will eventually merge as I gain more confidence. For now, I’ll keep watching and replicating some of Jo’s beautiful cards.
Here are the cards that I made today as I crafted along with Jo –

‘Speckled Egg’ Glow Flowers with Mini Pipin
For my first card, I pretty much copied Jo’s original design but used the Leaf Creeper stamp instead of Whimsical Whisps (as I don’t own that one … yet). I recently purchased some Monte Marte Pastel Pencils and selected a couple of different blues and the white to use for my Glow Flowers. Some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter (SU) was added to the coloured parts on the flowers for a bit of sparkle.
‘Tattered Rose’ Glow Flowers with Mini Pipin
For my second card I used Tattered Rose Distress Ink instead of Speckled Egg and changed the ‘Glory’ Stencil for the ‘Feather Leaf’ one to switch it up a little. I also added three ‘hills’ using the Acetate Hill Masks on this one. The Glow Flowers were coloured with Flirty Flamingo and Calypso Coral Watercolor Pencils (SU) as they were a good match.
