Hello and welcome to my blog. Today’s card was the last one that I made for the Dirty Dozen Design Team at Splitcoast Stampers.
All the project shares had to be exclusive to the Fan Club Gallery for a period of 6 months. This Gatefold Double Box Card (original design) was the last in the series of six for the September, 2021, Popping In Theme.
Projects could include any of the following ideas –
Pop up elements on your card with dimensional foam tape (Stampin’ Dimensionals)
Make a pop-up card
Create in a pop art style
Make a card featuring… soda pop, lollipop, popcorn, father/grandfather
Be inspired by the lyrics of a favorite pop song
Tutorials to try: any Pop-Up card, Poppin’ Pearls/Pastels, Altered Pop Top Can, Pop Stars
There are pop-up elements in the two ‘box’ sections of this card which adds dimension and surprise to the fun scene of Party Puffins.
My Gatefold Double Box Card design is one of my favourite fancy folds and I’ve made quite a few over the years. For this one I chose to include a variety of patterns from the free Sale-a-bration, Beautifully Penned Designer Series Paper and add a pop of Polished Pink to offset all the black and white.

Here’s the link to the most current tutorial that I wrote for this card fold –
Sadly I only completed 2 months out of the 6 for the Dirty Dozen Design Team at Splitcoast Stampers. My mum had a nasty fall and then not long after that, she had a life threatening bleed (totally unrelated) and got a free helicopter ride to Hobart for emergency surgery. Hubby and I spent most of the last three months of 2021 caring for my mum and living between our home and hers.
Obviously, not a lot of card making got done during that time. I didn’t mind having a bit of a break and shifting the focus for a while. It was a good opportunity to spend time with family and to reflect on life’s priorities. I kinda made up for it in January but have slowed down the pace a little since then. If it wasn’t for these blog posts that I wrote 6 months ago, there wouldn’t have been a lot of activity on this website for the last couple of months. Thanks for sticking with me through this ‘dry patch’ …
… and thanks for popping in,
Love the little guy hanging from the top!
