Hi there and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. After a lovely 10 days at the beach (with bikes and body boards in the RV but no crafting supplies), I was itching to get back into my craft room and give the Welcoming Window Bundle another whirl. I had this idea while I was away to use the bundle on a ‘Bridge Fold’ and was keen to put my thoughts into action today.
So after all the unpacking and washing was done, I went looking for some colour inspiration for the card that I had in mind and came across a challenge that was ‘new’ to me – The Spot Challenge (NLA). They have a great Photo Inspiration for their 152nd Challenge and I chose to focus primarily on the colour palette. However, I’ve also included some succulents and flowers in my little cottage scene.
So here’s the gorgeous photo inspiration –
Their colour palette could be interpreted in a few different ways but I settled on the following Stampin’ Up! ® colour combination –
As I was assembling my card, I discovered that the usual ‘bridge fold’ construction looked way better with the 3D section at the front of the card instead of at the back.
As a result of having the card ‘back to front’, a full ‘bridge’ panel at the back does allow more room to write the greeting –
To create even more of a 3D look, some roof tiles were added above the front window as well as some garden gates on either side of the window box. There are also box inserts inside with hanging succulents and a yellow jug that’s sitting on a ‘wooden’ table.
Well, I did eventually get around to cooking some dinner tonight as this simpler version using the Welcoming Window Bundle didn’t take half as long to make as the last one!
Thanks so much for stopping by,
