My Platypus Auto Pull Tab Card

Hello and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’ve got a fun, interactive card to share with you inspired by Sharni Haines’ ‘Way to Goat’ Auto Pull Tab Card from The Dimensionals October Tutorial Bundle.

Every month I collaborate with three other amazing card designers to publish a tutorial bundle featuring 3D card designs; we’re called The Dimensionals and we LOVE WHAT WE DO! I’m still catching up with last month’s fabulous designs and intend to do a thorough catch up in January of some of the tutorials for 2020 that I haven’t tried yet. I was so pleased with how this Auto Pull Tab Card turned out –

There’s a great Aussie Company called ‘Uniquely Creative’. I’ve been collecting a few of their products over the last few months and thought it was high time I cracked open the My Platypus Mini Kit that I had purchased –

I’m loving the cute platypus images from the stamp set and the ‘Billabong’ Die. It looks like the kit has sold out but most of the products can still be purchased separately. I’m having a bit of a chuckle to myself as I totally forgot I had the coordinating dies for the stamp set and I fussy cut every one. Duh!

Card Front

When the card is opened, the tab automatically pulls up the lower section to form a ‘mound’. When I saw Sharni’s cute card with the goats, I thought the design would be good to replicate and to make a ‘river bank’ instead of a grassy mound.

I went away for a few days to Sister’s Beach with my sister and my mum. Thankfully, we are ‘KEEPING ON TOP OF COVID’ in Tassie and travel within our beautiful state is encouraged. Our border has just opened up to most of the other states in Australia and the tourists are starting to come by plane and boat. It’s so good to hear the planes flying overhead (a rare thing for most of 2020). So, if you’re travelling from the mainland to Tasmania, make sure you add Sister’s Beach and Stanley to your itinerary!
