Hi there. Welcome to my blog. If you’re a regular visitor/subscriber you’ll notice that I haven’t posted much lately as I’ve only just returned from a Study Tour to Israel. Friends of ours invited us to join them on a tour of the Holy Land and it was an epic experience to say the least. Today was the first time in over a month that I’d ventured back into my craft room to create a card as it took hubby and I about a week to get over our jet lag and catch up on things at home. I even spent a day in the garden planting some annuals in the front flower beds!
It was so good to get back into paper crafting; this was actually a practice run for a card that I have designed for my next tutorial. I’ve used Mosaic Mood Specialty DSP on a Thick Whisper White Card Base for my ‘prototype’.
I spotted a card in a local craft shop that was made from a die to hold a pop-out label and thought I’d have a go at designing my own version using the Detailed Bands Dies. It took a bit of fiddling to work out the measurements and the score lines but I got there in the end.
I thought it was high time I cracked open this DSP as it was ‘an all attendee give away’ at On Stage in Auckland back in April. Inspiration to open the pack came from spotting some Roman mosaic roof tiles in an archaeological site in Capernaum.
Update – 2nd October 2019 – I’ve published a tutorial for the tweaked version which uses Perennial Essence DSP as the card base, plus project information for 3 other card designs –
Thanks so much for stopping by,
