The Holiday Catalogue is almost here and I’ve already had a sneaky peek at all the new goodies (one of the perks of being a Demonstrator). I was pretty excited to see some Christmas stamps that look like ‘cookies’ and just had to get them in my first pre-order (Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators can purchase the products before the release date).
The Embossing Paste (icing) on the heart cookie stamp, featured on page 25 of the catty, got me thinking … Off I went to De Arn’s place to see what essential oils would be fun to mix in with the Embossing Paste that had a scent of freshly baked Christmas cookies. Holiday Joy, with a blend of Wild Orange, Cloves, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Vanilla (plus Cassia and Douglas Fir) smelt divine. It was perfect … well almost; minus the tree scents. LOL.
I decided to use this idea for my technique presentation at our recent Get Together for Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators in Tasmania and demonstrated a couple of ways that ‘scent’ can be added to paper craft projects (I’ll share the second technique in my next post).
A small amount of White Embossing Paste was mixed in with just one drop of doTERRA Holiday Joy for the heart shaped cookie on my little treat bag. I’m pretty sure the ladies appreciated the Christmassy smell and the fun technique.
The pink heart and card stock (inside the treat bag) have been embossed with some of the Sweetly Stitched Framelits Dies. Squeal!! Aren’t they gorgeous.
If you love the idea of scented cards and cute ‘stitching’, then you’re definitely going to want to get your hands on this bundle when it’s released in September! I can also help you out with your Essential Oils too ;).

Advances in technology have been amazing but it’s a shame it hasn’t stretched far enough to allow you to experience the gorgeous aroma from that cute little stamped, heart cookie. You’ll just have to take my word for it that it smells ‘delish’, or better still, try it out for yourself.
Thanks for stopping by.
Yet to try this technique. It has me intrigued! You had me grabbing for my catty – I think you mean page 25 🙂
Thanks, Vicki. I should have worn my reading glasses 🙂
What a wonderful idea. Now I will be on a quest to find the closest shop with essential oils. Thanks for the tip.
