Morning Memories Folio

Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I’m sharing a folio that I made using the gorgeous Morning Memories Collection from Paper Rose Studio. This is my first Design Team project for the month of May and I chose to use this stunning collection because I love coffee, the beach and the colour blue … so ultimately … it was my ‘dream’ assignment!

About two months ago I attended a Folio Class with LJ’s Crafty Corner at Bev’s Cross Crafts in Spreyton. It was SO much fun to re-visit some paper crafting techniques that I hadn’t done for a while … like using a Crop-a-dile for eyelets and making paper embellishments for the signature binding etc.

This time around I added a small gusset to the middle fold in the cover as I knew the contents were going to be a bit bulky –

The delicate scalloped edging on some of the pockets etc. was die-cut from Winter Blue Shimmer Cardstock using the Lace Edges Metal Cutting Die.

The folio took a couple of days for me to complete with so many extra additions but I was super chuffed with the end result.

I used a brand new product from Paper Rose Studio for the card – a 4×6″ Scalloped Card Base with Tag and Pocket (Card Folio #1).

Cuteness alert! The teeny, mini folio that is 50% less in scale to the original is one of my favourite additions. It’s made from the 6×6″ Morning Memories Basics Paper and the Morning Coffee Embossed Die-Cuts.

Then there’s the larger notebook tucked away in the back pocket with it’s own tuck pockets on the inside front and back covers … and pretty punched circles for the ends of the wax binding threads.

Here’s a combined pic to show you all the beautiful pages and contents of the folio –

In summary, my Morning Memories version has a couple of notepads, a large and small notebook, pockets, double pockets, double belly-bands, tuck pockets (in the large notebook as well), long thin side pockets, a double page with side pockets, a mini version of this folio, a card folio and an extra flap page.

The wax threads in the middle have embossed blue flowers attached for extra embellishment. All the page edges were inked with Ground Espresso (Distress Oxide) Ink and the corners rounded for a nicer finish. Lastly, I used some lovely cream ribbon from my stash to fasten it all together.
