Hi and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’m back with another Butterfly Carousel Box Card (an original design) made with the gorgeous, large Vanessa Butterfly Dies. It features the cute papers and embossed die-cuts from the Lavender & Fairies Collection (all from Paper Rose Studio).
I’m working on some ideas for a local class that involves making 3D cards with butterfly dies. This is just one of the sample projects and the first of about four that I’m planning to make in the series. It’s tough to decide on which papers and butterfly dies I’ll end up using in the class because I love them all! So far I’ve played with the Butterfly Bliss and Butterfly Garden papers and because the Lavender & Fairies papers also feature butterflies, it seemed like a fun choice for my latest sample.

It’s technically not a ‘carousel’ card in the true sense of the word but the name sounded catchy and you do need to turn it a full 360º to see all the pretty paper on the butterflies.
I added a fairy to the box card insert, a dragonfly to the front section and a butterfly at the back for some extra embellishment.

I’m entering this card into three challenges. The first one is a new one for me –
‘Pretty papers’ is always the theme of the challenge but they’ve added an optional theme to create a Fun or Fancy Fold for January 2025 – https://lovethoseprettypapers.blogspot.com/2025/01/atg-using-pretty-patterned-paper.html
The second challenge at Just Us Girls is to ‘Use a Die’ with an anything goes theme –

… and a third challenge that’s also new to me – Triple B – Birds, Butterflies & Blooms. where you can choose to use just one, two or all three on your creations. I have butterflies and blooms in my project for their January Challenge –
Optional Mood Board – (White Butterfly)

I have instructions for both the Alora Layered Butterfly and the Vanessa Butterfly Carousel Box Cards which can be purchased as a bundle from my Tutorial Shop –
… and this card does fold ‘flat’ and fits inside a C6 or A2 envelope.
I decided to make myself a kit to take with me on our latest trip in our ‘new’ Motorhome (no internet). ☺️
Tasmania has some of the best beaches in the world and this was the first time we’d ventured all the way to Lemons Beach at Petal Point, Cape Portland (far NE).
It was such a beautiful, FREE camping area and a glorious 27º Celsius on Saturday. On our first walk along the beach we spotted a pod of playful dolphins in the distance but by the time we got closer to take photos, they had swum further out to sea. The water was so warm, the sand was soft and the ocean was a beautiful turquoise colour with crystal clear rock pools. It was a lovely weekend getaway to escape the ‘heatwave’ in Launceston.
Thanks for stopping by,

Thanks so much, Diane. I will go and check out the Triple B site.
Your carousels are so lovely and creative, Bronwyn. The papers worked beautifully and have an air of fairyland about them. And speaking of fairies, she is adorable. Thank you for sharing your creation with us at Just Us Girls.
You’ve got heaps of creativity and oodles of cuteness happening here, Bronwyn! I think your class is going to fill up quickly. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Just Us Girls!
