Alora Layered Butterfly ‘Carousel’ Box Card Tutorial

Hi and welcome to AddINKtive Designs; Happy New Year to all my lovely blog subscribers and visitors; may 2025 be a ‘crafty’ one for you!

I’m starting off the year by sharing an idea that was swirling around in my head for a few days; yesterday I took a break from re-organising my craft room and sat down to try and see if I could turn that idea into reality.

I kinda just made things up as I went along as the initial idea didn’t quite pan out, however, I’m very pleased with the end result. It turned out better than I had envisioned, so much so that I decided to re-do some steps to photograph and ended up with a 7 page tutorial that I hadn’t planned on writing!

I’m calling this card design a Carousel Box Card and it’s made with the Alora Layering Butterfly Dies, Blossom Branch Die and Butterfly Bliss 6×6 Paper Collection from Paper Rose Studio.

This design can be easily adapted so you can make it with similar dies and different paper collections – in fact I have another one in the pipe-line that I’ll share with you very soon.

I added some craft magnets to ‘lock’ the tips of the wings together (entirely optional) and the card does fold down to fit inside a C6 Envelope, albeit a tad bulky; it will need extra ‘packaging’ if posting.

You’ll be seeing more projects with this combo of paper and dies as I prepare to ‘pitch a class’ to a local craft shop for a ‘Butterfly Bliss’ Card Making Class in 2025.
