‘Hello Little Boy’ Baby Shower Album with an Interactive ‘Add-On’ Feature

Hi there and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’m so excited about sharing this very cute Baby Shower Album with you.

It features the ‘Hello Little Boy’ 6×8″ Die Cuts & Sentiments from Paper Rose Studio.

I love using pop-out, die-cut sheets or ephemera packs; it sure beats stamping, colouring and die-cutting all the images you need for a project. I would have loved to have used the matching patterned papers but the card kit wasn’t available at my local craft shop (I was in need of it ASAP). So I made do with a couple of Bo-Ho Blue paper packs and cardstock from my stash. The end result was satisfying but I do love to have everything ‘matchy matchy’. Needless to say, the Hello Little Boy Quick Cards Collection is on its way (Luckily, I did manage to pick up the Hello Little Girl version). Stay tuned for some fun card projects with both collections in the near future.

Back to the album … yep, it’s another Zig-Zag. I’m a little obsessed as they are so easy and fun to make.

Lately, I’ve been thinking of ways that I can incorporate an interactive ‘add-on’ to an album. If you missed my last blog post, be sure to go back and check out the planter box I made for the ‘Blue Land’ Album. This time I’ve added a pop-out baby crib (cot) to the inside cover –

Because this album was the ‘card’ and gift card holder all-in-one, made especially for my niece’s baby shower, I popped in a couple of small envelopes. Each one held a money gift from my mum and I, to accompany some other handmade pressies, like this cute little jumper I knitted for Baby Overton

Six other pockets were added to the album to hold the INSTAX photos that I took on the day. Here’s a peek at all the pages –

And … yes, the 3D crib/cot does fold down flat –

It was a beautiful time celebrating my niece’s ‘baby to be’ and catching up with family.

It was a bit tricky to photograph the whole album inside my ‘light box’ so here’s a ‘bird’s eye view’ for an ‘un-cropped’ version!

Now that the Zig-Zag Album Class (ran by my friend, Lynne), is officially over, I can finally share some exciting news. Firstly, I’ll be showing you how to assemble these fun albums (various sizes) over on my You Tube Channel very soon – https://www.youtube.com/c/BronwynEastleyAddinktiveDesigns

Secondly, I’ll be demonstrating how to make some interactive ‘add-ons’ for handmade albums. If you can’t wait for the ‘baby crib’ component, here’s a bundle you might be interested in purchasing; it’s a compilation of all my baby crib card tutorials –

Thirdly, in collaboration with Lynne (LJ’s Crafty Corner), project sheets with the cutting measurements, basic written instructions and photos will be available to download.

Exciting times ahead!
