Hi and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’ve got something rather unique to share with you. I’ve designed a Pinwheel Box Card (a pinwheel and box card combined). Another interesting feature is that the ‘wings’ are die-cut from the rounded, rectangular dies from Nested Essentials (SU).
I’ve made Pinwheel Cards with dies before and there are a few more ideas in the pipe line for future card designs but I’m rather taken with the ‘cuteness’ factor of this one … so many possibilities. In fact, if you come back in a week’s time you’ll see another, rather different version of this fold!
I chose to feature the gorgeous Painted Lavender Bundle (stamps and dies) and Perennial Lavender DSP on this Pinwheel Box Card; the sentiment and splatter stamps are from Quiet Meadow (all from SU) – You can shop Stampin’ Up! ® Products in Australia with Lou Kitzelman – https://www.stampinup.com.au/
As the foliage extends a little way from the top of the card, a 5-1/2″ square envelope is required for this particular design.
I’ve written a tutorial for this unique, Pinwheel Box Card which can be purchased from my TUTORIAL SHOP. It includes measurements for the ‘wings’ if you don’t have the Nested Essentials Dies in your paper craft stash … therefore allowing you to be able to use any small stamps, die-cuts and patterned papers with this particular card fold.
While I was brushing on some Clear Wink of Stella Glitter to the foliage, it reminded me of the Scented Lavender Easel Cards I made a few years ago. I thought it would be a nice idea to include my tutorial for the Dear Doily Lavender Scented Easel Cards with the Perennial Lavender Pinwheel Box Card so you can learn how to add some scent to the ‘Painted Lavender’ as well!
Happy Paper Crafting!
Hi!, I love your many ‘different’ cards! I just find it hard to make an ordinary one fold card (even tho many are super cute! And I’m having to go back to basics because I never really started at the beginning and my cards suffer because I can’t seem to cut right or choose colors & patterns right, they just don’t ‘click’ alot of the time. When a card clicks or is Right I know and feel it and the receivers know and love the card! And they love interactive or ‘different’ cuteness! We all feel good about the card! Yours so often are those!! Thank YOU for creating and SHARING! They mean alot to me, as do You and the feeling of a valuable friendship! Far away but close because of technology, yay!!!
So lovely of you to say, Debby.
Beautiful !
Thank you, Di.
Beautiful. I always struggle to cover all the sides! 🙂 I need to use more pattern paper!
Thanks, Vicki. This fold is great to show off patterned papers.
