Hi and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. Tonight I’m sharing a ‘Belt and Buckle’ Card that I made for the Butterfly Challenge; I’ve been following the challenge for a while but it’s the first time I’ve played along.

There are a few different categories that need to be included in your project for the latest challenge – make a Belt and Buckle Card, include a selection of colours starting with the letter ‘B’ and add a Border or Birthday/Best Wishes sentiment …
… and butterflies of course!
“To play for the first prize you just need to use 3 colours from the palette shown above, Birthday Wishes and your Butterflies or to play for the second prize you will need to use 2 colours from the palette shown above, make a Belt and Buckle Card, add Birthday Wishes or a Border on your card and your Butterflies”.
I chose to include the following – 1) Three colours – ‘Baby Pink’, ‘Buttermilk’ and ‘Bluebell’, 2) Birthday Wishes, 3) Butterflies and 4) a ‘Belt and Buckle’ Card.
As I enjoy making 3D cards, I thought it would be fun to design my own version of a ‘Belt and Buckle’ Card and include a miniature Planter Box on the inside –
I used a combination of products from Paper Rose (PR) and Stampin’ Up! (SU) –
- Paper Rose – 6×6 patterned papers ‘Butterfly Garden’ , Blossom Branch Die and Small Vanessa Butterfly Die
- Stampin’ Up! – Nested Essentials Dies and Stylish Shapes Dies (used in the ‘Belt’ and ‘Buckle’), Stitched with Whimsy Dies, Artistically Inked Stamps, Seaside Spray Ink (retired), Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Adhesive Basic Pearls
Please note that I am not affiliated with either company; I just enjoy designing card folds using products that I have in my stash, current or retired.
Here’s a little peek at the prototype that I designed. It was made to US Lettersize measurements and today’s card was created using A4 metric measurements –
