Hi and welcome to my blog. Today I’m sharing the Art Journal pages that I started to make last weekend. It was a full on weekend with a belated family celebration for my 60th Birthday on Saturday, then an Art Journal Class the following day.
I thoroughly enjoyed the class and learnt a few different techniques along the way. Seeing that I woke up nice and early this morning, I decided to wander out to my craft room to finish stamping the foliage and complete the colouring in on all the pages. The finished result is not ‘perfect’, in fact I made a couple of rather obvious mistakes but it’s all about the ‘journey’ and I’m looking forward to transferring some of these ideas onto cards in the near future (minus the ‘boo boos’).
Art Journal Pages
The class was conducted by Lynn from Lynn’s Creative Designs and held at Bev’s Cross Crafts in Spreyton. I was so focussed on what I was doing that I didn’t realise Lynn had taken these photos (below) until they appeared on Facebook a few days later.
Here’s a few close up pics of my journal pages –
It was so relaxing to add the finer details to the pages today and I was pleasantly surprised at just how much I enjoyed this newfound form of creative expression.
What about you? Do you keep an art journal? I’m curious to know about what you use it for – creative expression, sketches, to try out different art mediums, as a diary, your faith journey????? Let me know your thoughts in the comments. I’d love to hear from you.
Looks like fun! I don’t keep a journal as such, I do admire the work that people put into them though. I have thought about a technique journal for papercraft/stamping techniques, I know some people keep those. The only creative journal I keep is a quilt diary which is simply notes & pics on the quilts I have made. It’s good for a reference.
Your pages are gorgeous Bronwyn! I’m not quite finished mine but they are progressing. I loved the class and learned lots of new techniques to try out on cards too. I’m looking forward to our ‘Lavinia’ day together xx
