Chalkboard Easel and Stepper Cards for Teacher Appreciation Sunday

Hello and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. My apologies for being AWOL on here lately – my card making mojo plummeted to an all time low due to the need to quickly pack our bags and head to my mum’s place for a week (three weeks ago).

She had a nasty fall and needed someone to care for her for a while after her trip to emergency. Thankfully, mum is now on the mend and in good spirits but is unable to drive due to a broken wrist. All the facial injuries have healed really well and we are very thankful that her fall didn’t result in far more serious injuries. She’s a ‘tough nut’!

There just hasn’t been much time to think about card making in-between visits to mum’s place but a request for some cards for Teacher Appreciation Sunday today at Church, ‘kicked my butt into gear’ and before my last trip to stay with mum, I packed all the gear that I needed to make the card bases. I sat at mum’s dining room table and cut out all the pieces that I needed to make these chalkboard easel cards.

When I returned home, the stamping and assembly began for the 25 Teacher Appreciation Cards and 4 ‘Stepper’ Cards for the Principals. it reminded me of the days when I used to make ‘swaps’ for in-person, Stampin’ Up! ® events! I look forward to the day when they are a reality again. I miss seeing my stamping buddies.

My lovely stamping friend, Debbie Henderson, has a great VIDEO TUTORIAL for a CHALKBOARD EASEL CARD. Make sure you go and check it out!

Chalkboard Easel Stepper Card

For the cards for the School Principals, I added some little stamped images from the Make It Happen Stamp Set and some from the retired Bookcase Builder Set, to the ‘stepper’ sections on both sides of the chalkboard easel. You can view the complete products list further down in the post.

I did enjoy stamping and assembling these cards but must confess that I also enjoyed the little break that I took from writing blog posts and Design Team commitments. PEOPLE before PAPER. Hopefully I will resume to normal programming at some stage as there are so many card tutorial ideas in my head waiting to be released onto paper!

Thanks so much for taking the time to pop by my blog today. I really do appreciate it. Enjoy what’s left of the weekend – make sure you get in some exercise, drink your water, take a break from Social Media, hug someone you love and take time out to rest amidst the busyness of life. See you in the next post.
