Hello and welcome to my blog. I’m pretty excited to finally bring you my latest card tutorial. This one has certainly been a labour of love. I kinda regret not taking step by step instructional photos when I made the first card for The Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop and Colour INKspiration Challenges (the one on the left in the pic below) because I’ve had a few follow up requests for the instructions. In response, I decided to recreate the original card using a different colour palette –
It’s hard to pick my favourite but I couldn’t get too attached as the new blue/green version has already found its way to a friend who is celebrating her birthday this month and seeing that I have a few other friends who have birthdays in September, the original card won’t stay on my craft desk for very long either.
I love the Expressions In Ink Designer Series Paper; it’s a printed version of the ‘alcohol ink technique’ but without the mess! It makes a beautiful backdrop for the fluttering Balmy Blue/Just Jade and Mango Melody/Daffodil Delight butterflies.
If you’ve been following my blog, you would have spotted a Double Easel Card that I made with the Timeless Tropical Stamps and In the Tropics Dies. I’m also publishing a post tonight that features a ‘Spring’ version of this card design (sneak peek below). I tend to go through ‘fads’ in my card making and it seems I’m on a bit of a roll with these Double Easel Cards. Today’s tutorial also contains the Supplies Lists and photos ONLY (no instructions) for the other three versions –
As an extra bonus, I’ve added the tutorial for my Brilliant Wings Butterfly Easel Cards –
