Hi crafty peeps. I have something exciting to share with you; tonight I launched an AUSSIE THEMED fortnightly Card Making Challenge Group on Facebook. It’s called G’day Fri’yay’ – https://www.facebook.com/groups/gdayfriyay
We focus on Australian themes but encourage all our global card making friends to participate.
You can use any brand of paper craft products. There’s no Design Team and no ‘winners’ announced each fortnight. It’s all about having fun and encouraging creativity.
All you have to do is make a NEW paper craft project inspired by the CURRENT theme, take a photo of your project and upload it to the group.
Our first theme is KOALA so dig out those stamps, dies, papers etc. that feature our cute and cuddly, furry friend and join in on the fun!
For my debut project I made a Pinwheel Card – this one fits into a standard card size envelope and is made from a card base that measures (H)4-1/4″ x (W)5-3/4″. It’s scored along the width at 3/4″, 1-1/2″, 2-1/4″ and 3″ to form the inner mechanism. The three wings that attach to each section, each measure (H)4-1/4″ x (W)2-3/4″. Patterned paper pieces measure (H)4″ x (W)2-1/2″ (x4) and (H)4″ x (W)1-3/4″ (x4).
Each page rotates to reveal four different ‘scenes’ with a total of five cute koalas.

I must admit, I’m a little ‘hooked’ on these Pinwheel Cards.
One of the reasons I started G’day Fri’yay’ Challenge Group is that I have a LOT of Australiana Paper Craft products in my stash (many stamps haven’t seen ink). It’s also nice to focus on challenges that are seasonally relevant for us in the Southern Hemisphere.
My G’day Mate Stamp Set from Uniquely Creative finally got some love it deserved. The images are absolutely adorable! I’ve coloured them with Stampin’ Blends (Stampin’ Up! ® alcohol markers) and used the beautiful Australiana papers from Kaisercraft.

I have this style of card on my “to do list” already, great to see with some familiar “faces” :). Can also confirm I have many uninked stamps and loads of paper (not all necessarily Australian themed though!), so you are not alone however I suspect you know that!!
