Stamping in the RV with Stampin’ Up! ® Products and the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine

Hi there and welcome to my comprehensive guide on suggested Stampin’ Up! ® Products that you can take with you while travelling in your RV [Recreational Vehicle] (or perhaps you live in your RV full time or have a tiny space to craft in). Whatever the reason you’ve decided to check out my post today, I can assure you that you are not alone when it comes to deciding on what paper crafting supplies to take with you on your next adventure. Grab a cuppa and enjoy the read!

Of course when you’re travelling and seeing the sites, you often don’t have a lot of time to devote to your paper craft hobby/business but there can be days when you’re stuck in the van due to wild and windy weather and times when you’re wanting to chill out while you’re ‘free’ camping (boon docking).

I’m speaking from experience as hubby and I frequently travel within our beautiful State of Tasmania in our Australian made, 2015 AVIDA Birdsville Motorhome (Class C Motorhome in USA terminology). It’s when you get free camping spots like this one at The Bay of Fires (East Coast of Tasmania) that you have to ‘pinch’ yourself –

You can read about our travels thus far over on our Facebook page – Tassie 2 Get Away or find us on INSTA.

PS: I’ve started a Facebook Group for like minded Stampin’ Up! ® Enthusiasts. It’s called STAMPING ON THE GO. If you’re interested in joining, just follow the link below – https://www.facebook.com/groups/stampingonthego

Last month we spent a couple of weeks ‘glamping’ at Hobart, Sorell, Richmond and Oatlands and while we were away I made the big decision to rejoin Stampin’ Up! ®. I was frustrated with the stamping supplies that I’d thrown together to take on the trip; I’d packed too much stuff and storing it all proved to be a hassle. I vowed I would be much better organised for the next trip and had a bit of a ‘lightbulb’ moment. It basically consisted of some business ideas and how I was going to incorporate those ideas in our future travels. It appears this gal cannot fully retire and still has the ‘bug’ for all things Stampin’ Up! ®. I’m calling it my Stampin’ Up! ® Reset for 2021.

Today I’m sharing some ideas of products from the current Annual Catalogue that you can keep in your RV, or in a carry bag at the ready, as well as a comprehensive check list of suitable products that can be used with the new, soon to be released (January 2021), Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine. I’ve pre-ordered mine and cannot wait to take it on the road. Please CONTACT ME if you’re interested in purchasing one for yourself. It will be $104 AUD (very comparable to other similar machines on the market), has a “compact footprint for easy storage and travel”, is compatible with many products and includes one mini base plate, two mini cutting plates and one mini 3D embossing plate. I’m super excited about its release and cannot wait to have a play!

So let’s start with some basic tools and adhesives that I’ll be permanently keeping a supply of in the RV (PDF Checklist and You Tube Clip to come) –

Basic Paper Crafting Tools and Adhesives

Bone Folder

$12.00

Paper Snips

$17.00

Stamparatus

$85.00

Plus a biro, pencil and a ruler.

I’ll keep my Stamparatus and Paper Trimmer in a tote bag ‘at the ready’ in my craft room.

The next thing to consider is what colouring tools will I include in my travel stash. That will all depend on the contents of my Travel Tutorials that I hope to publish in the coming weeks and months. Stampin’ Up! ® have an amazing range to choose from – Markers, Watercolor Pencils, Glitter Brushes, Inks, Water Painters, Stampin’ Blends (Alcohol Markers), Ink Spots, Sponge Daubers, Spritzers and soon to be released … Blending Brushes.

Colouring Tools

Other supplies to consider –

  • Coloured Card Stock – Foil Sheets – Glimmer Paper – Designer Series Paper
  • Card Kits – Memories and More Cards and Envelopes and Card Packs
  • Embellishments – Enamel Dots, Gems, Rhinestones and Sequins, Ribbon and Trim etc.
  • Punches and Punch Bundles
  • Stamps, Dies etc.

I’ll be making sure that I have a few of these basic supplies in the RV –

Basic Whisper White Supplies

Stampin’ Up! ® also have some great card kits (two all inclusive, one project kit and a more ‘open ended’ product medley). These are great for beginner stampers and are fabulous and compact to take on your travels –

Kits and Product Medley

In the Annual Catalogue, the products that can be used with the new Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine have a little ‘Mini’ symbol next to them. I’ve compiled a list of all the bundles, dies and embossing folders that can be used with the ‘Mini’ –

Stamp and Die Bundles Suitable for the Mini Machine

Dies Suitable for the Mini Machine

Dino Dies

$61.00

Many of these dies have coordinating stamp sets but are no longer available in ‘bundles’.

Then there are the cute, new embossing folders –

I published this post so I’d have a ‘visual summary’ of basic tools and products that are suitable for the RV and the new Mini Machine and thought that my readers would appreciate it too. Watch out for another similar post in January that will feature the Jan-June, Mini Catalogue Products!

Next year I hope to bring you some Travel Tutorials. I’ll be Stamping in the Birdy (aka our AVIDA Birdsville Motorhome) and hope to video some of our adventures along the way. 2021 is looking a whole lot ‘brighter’.

Thanks for stopping by,

  1. Happy to see that you’re back with SU! Safe travels & look forward to seeing what you design as you travel. I’ve ordered the mini cutting & embossing machine since I have a full size electric one.

  2. Thanks for this post. I’ve been a demonstrator for 21 years and my husband and I just bought an RV. I’m starting to plan for how I can keep my SUP business going while traveling on the RV…your post helped me realize that I’m not alone and that it’s doable if I put my mind to it! Thanks!

  3. I’ve been stamping in our RV/5th wheel for years. For storage of my products I used the Iris® 7-Drawer Black Storage Cart with Organizer Top. It holds an amazing amount when we’re moving it fits in the closet in the bedroom. When we’re stationary, I wheel it over to where I’m stamping and then roll it back over against a wall when I’m not using it.

Thanks so much for taking the time to leave some comment love. I read and appreciate each one. Thanks for visiting addINKtive designs.
