Hi there. Welcome to my blog; tonight I’m sharing my first card made with products from the newly released Holiday Catalogue. Gnomes are really on trend right now in the paper crafting world so I was excited to see the cute stamp set, Gnome for the Holidays on page 23 of the catty.
All I could think about until my order arrived was making a little Toadstool Pop-Up, Gnome House and here’s what eventually materialised after a 6 hour session in my craft room –
Fortunately, it won’t take you as long to make one as I’ve ‘put the hard yards in’ and published a tutorial with easy, step by step instructions and photos for you to follow along.
The Wreath Builder Dies and Confetti Flowers Border Punch made it easy to add some extra greenery to the scene and colouring the little gnomes with Stampin’ Blends and a touch of Clear Wink of Stella was quite a relaxing exercise for me to do after a long day of preparing to head off in our Motorhome for a short break.
Fast forward a few days and I’m currently typing up this blog post while winter camping at a beach not too far from home; I’ve really enjoyed writing the tutorial over the last few days while listening to the sounds of the ocean and the rain on the Motorhome roof.
Some paper crafters love trying different techniques like arty watercolour backgrounds etc. For me, creating 3D scenes inside a card is what ‘makes me happy’ and I hope it brings some happiness to the recipient too. I love the surprise factor that a pop-up mechanism creates!
I hope I’ve inspired you to give it a go –

Thanks so much for stopping by,
So adorable.
I really love this card! I will prob get the tutorial soon!
WOW it sure is another fabulous 3D card. I have popped this set in and out of my cart a few times! I’m really sitting on the fence trying to convince myself that I have a need for another Christmas set 🙂
Thanks, Vicki. The ‘cuteness’ factor got me over the line.
I forgot to say enjoy the motorhome camping – so jealous. One week down at least 5 to go!
I sure feel sad for my Victorian friends and so we’re making the most of this ‘bubble’ that we currently find ourselves in. Who knows what next month will bring!
