ESAD – Annual Catalogue Blog Hop

Hi there and welcome to AddINKtive Designs. I’m hopping with a bunch of lovely Aussie and Kiwi Stampin’ Up! ® Demonstrators to showcase some of the gorgeous new products in the Annual Catalogue.

My project is a cute Peek-a-Boo Card made from products from the Whale of a Time Suite and the Pallet Thoughts Stamp Set. I’d never made a peek-a-boo card before and it was a lot easier than I had envisaged; I followed a fantastic tutorial by Sharni Haines from The Dimensionals June Tutorial Bundle.

My hubby turned 60 yesterday so of course the card had to be a bit special to mark the occasion. A few years ago we went on a Catamaran Cruise from Port Douglas; it moored in a lagoon near a beautiful coral island which had a major sea turtle habitat (inner Great Barrier Reef). The absolute highlight was spotting a few turtles in the coral waters below as we snorkelled in the lagoon.

I was pretty keen to get my hands on the Whale of a Time Suite so I could create a card featuring the cute turtles and coral from the Designer Series Paper.

With the peek-a-boo mechanism, the fun sentiments appear as you open up the card.

The ’60’ label is made from a retired Project Life Stamp Set and circle punches. Pool Party and Pretty Peacock form the main colour palette for the card base and frames.

I’m certain that this suite of products will remain a firm favourite in my craft stash for quite a while.
