Hi there peeps. I don’t usually post a lot of personal stuff on my blog but some of you may be interested in seeing some of the highlights of my trip to the USA. The main reason for making such a long journey was to attend an international Stampin’ Up! ® Event in Orlando Florida. SU’s 30th Anniversary Celebrations was an event not to be missed and I, along with some of my demo buddies, were determined to make the most of our time in the lead up to ‘On Stage Live’ at Orange County Convention Centre. The day after we arrived, it was all about visiting some iconic American stores and shopping til we dropped!
The Journey
The food and entertainment on the QANTAS flight helped to pass the time away – 14 plus hours!
I was looking pretty weary at the end of the flight and here we are at LAX waiting for our 5 plus hour flight to Orlando, Florida.
We waited at the departure gate for a long time until Sandra realised they had made a gate change. We rushed around to another lounge and just made it in time for boarding!
Our Home Away from Home
Bec and Sandra picked up our hire car, a Dodge Caravan with Californian number plates, which would be our main mode of transport for all seven of us during our stay in Orlando.
Our condo – 4801 Tidecrest Ave, #176, Vista Cay Resort.
Driving to the shops. Yay! We’re in Florida.
A roomie gift from Bec made by the lovely, Emma Palonek.
Day 1 – Shopping
Woohoo! We’re at Michaels!
This is only a small snapshot of some of the Christmas Displays.
My mum would LOVE the wool section.
Buffalo Check is certainly ‘on trend’.
Inspiration everywhere. I would have loved one of these but they were a tad too heavy to bring back home.
Next stop, the Dollar Tree
Yes, everything is a dollar or two but don’t forget to add the tax on top of that!
The ‘pickle’ decorations were intriguing!
My son would love the LEGO section of Walmart.
Disney Springs
The Star Wars Merchandise was ‘out of this world’.
We also shopped at a DFO outlet and I found an Ecco Shop. The shoes were already heavily discounted and then there was a 40% off the marked price special for the weekend only!
The three mousekateers after a day’s shopping.
I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at all the pics from our shopping day. Tomorrow I’ll be sharing the highlights from our trip to Animal Kingdom!
It is so interesting following along with you and your friends in Orlando and seeing what you marvel about. Having grown up just outside of there, although I have lived in Michigan for 50+ years, I still can find my way around a lot of it and have been to Disney World many times. So glad you had a great time and please come back.
Thanks, Susan. So much to see and do in Florida. It was sensory overload and I’m still seeing Mickey Mouse ears and street parades in my dreams LOL. It was unseasonally hot for that time of year (even the locals were complaining). Most days it was about 31 degrees Celsius and the humidity was on average about 95%. It was exhausting but loads of fun!
Love your post Bron. It’s so fun to travel along with you via your posts and updates. Will keep an eye out for the next one.
Looks amazing. My Ms 18 is heading over soon for 2 weeks. She asked me what I wanted her to buy me and I said go to Michaels! Thanks for the pics
Starting my catch up.
