Today I’m actually sharing pictures from my stamp classes that were held last week where we made scented cards featuring the Lemon Zest Stamp Set. I got the idea for scented embossing paste from Lyssa Griffin Zwolanek (Song of My Heart Stampers). She suggests mixing 2 drops of essential oils into 1 tablespoon of embossing paste.
The attendees cards were based on two simple designs that I put together as a suggested starting point. Here’s the first one –
We used ‘Wild Orange’ doTERRA Essential Oil for the first card. Two drops were mixed in a small amount of Shimmery White Embossing Paste and then applied to the card through the diamond mask from Pattern Party Decorative Masks.
Morning Class – Wild Orange and Lime Scented Cards
The second card is based on a pair I found on Pinterest made by Jenny Burnett. Her cards are gorgeous but unfortunately making a green embossing paste with the Lime doTERRA Essential Oils wasn’t the best idea. The only green ink refill I had was Old Olive and the gooey mixture didn’t look the best. Needless to say, I decided to switch the scent to lemon and use So Saffron in the embossing paste for the night class!
The lime mixture was applied directed to the punched out ‘lemon’ stamped image and some retired DSP was used for these double z-fold cards.
Night Class – Wild Orange and Lemon Scented Cards –
De Arn, the lovely doTERRA ‘Wellness Advocate’, attended both classes and here’s a line up of her cards that she made on the day –
I decided we’d do a pair of lemons instead of just one lime for the second card and was pretty pleased with the results. Tropical Escape DSP was used for the background papers and the scented lemon (with embossing paste) was added to the lower-right side of the card –
I think my stamp class ladies did a fantastic job at creating some Zesty Scented Cards. It was a bit messy but loads of fun.
