Hi there. Are you looking for a Christmas craft activity to do for Kid’s Church or Sunday school this year? Here’s an idea for a 3D project using Stampin’ Up! supplies – Baby Jesus in a Manger.
I’m having a little break from Design Team stuff as we head into the weekend, as I have a few ideas I’ve been wanting to try for a while and this is one of them. I’ve included a mini tutorial in this post.

Product List for Away in a Manger
Please note that I have used some retired Burlap Ribbon for this project and don’t quote me, but I think I bought the ‘Wood Wool’ from Spotlight.
Mini Tutorial for Away in a Manger –
1). Cut a piece of Woodgrain Textures DSP using the largest Window Box Die. 2). Fold all the score lines and cut the top hexagon shape in half as shown.
3). Using the small trapezoid shaped die with the horizontal slits, cut out pieces as shown.
4). Glue the lower side sections to the attached trapezoid section.
5). Glue the other section in place and cut off the two top tabs.
6). Punch out 4 labels from the DSP.
7). Glue a pair to each side of the manger as shown. Make sure the legs sit straight.
9). Stamp the baby image onto Shimmery White Card Stock.
10). With Peekaboo Peach Ink and an Aquapainter, colour in the baby’s head and cut out the stamped image.
11). Wrap about 2″ of Burlap Jute over the baby and secure with a couple of Glue Dots.
12). Place the baby in the manger.
13). Cut a star from Silver Glimmer Paper and attach to the back of the Manger.
Fabulous idea. Well done
Thank you for away in a manger
I just love all your tutorials ?
Love this! So sweet! IF baby Jesus disappears, He can easily be replaced:)
This is one of the best ideas I’ve ever seen with Stampin’ Up! products and I’ve been a demonstrator for 19 years!!! So cute and great use of product!
