Planter Box Extended Z-Fold Card Tutorial

Hi there and welcome to my blog. Last week I was asked if I’d make five Thank You Cards for our church to send to some local businesses who have been doing an amazing job during the COVID 19 lockdown/restrictions.

I decided to use my current favourite card fold – an Extended Z-Fold Card – I’ve done a couple of Double Z versions of this fold but for this ‘order’ I wanted to keep the overall design a little less fiddly as I had to make 5; hence the simple stamped card front with some pearl embellishments.

The Forever Fern Bundle is my current ‘go to’ stamp set and dies and what better way to display the fernery than to pop them inside a planter box. I used some Crushed Curry Ink for one of the plant images to add a touch of ‘Australiana’.

The Very Vanilla panel on the left has plenty of room to write a message. To balance out the composition of the card, I decided to add a cute bird image from the new Birds & Branches Bundle.

To close the card you just need to swing the planter box down flat to the left and fold down the card front. It will fold ‘flattish’ and easily fit inside a standard card size envelope; it may cost a little more to post but in this case I know that all the cards are going to be hand delivered.

So this card was my ‘prototype’ and I’m in the middle of assembling the others with different Designer Series Paper backgrounds from the gorgeous new, In Good Taste DSP which I’ll post pics of at a later date.
