The Stamp Review Crew – Waterfront

Welcome to addINKtive designs and the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Waterfront Stamp Set. The SRC are a group of International Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to show you lots of creative ways to use your stamps.

This set has been in my stash since it was first released and it’s the first time it has seen ink! Ooops. Do you ever buy a popular set and then after seeing a zillion samples, wonder where to start? I had watched several technique videos centred around Waterfront and was keen to give it a go but it remained on my shelf un-inked until last Saturday.

That is one reason why I love being part of the Stamp Review Crew – an impending blog hop made me get my act together and crack open what I thought was an intimidating stamp set. Nah! Once I inked it up it was ‘magical’; I’m really looking forward to using it again.

Yesterday it was Father’s Day in Australia and I made the card for our ‘kids’ to give to their dad.

I stamped the images of the mountain, trees and lakes first and built the shadow box around it.  When folded, it’s a little wider than your average card, so I needed to make a matching envelope with the Envelope Punch Board.

The stamped scene depicts Cradle Mountain and Dove Lake in Tasmania, Australia, inspired by this family photo taken 15 years ago!

I loved putting the images from Waterfront in a 3D setting. It made the stamps come alive! So looking forward to seeing what the rest of the SRC have done with this versatile set.
