The Stamp Review Crew – Sea of Textures

Welcome to addINKtive designs and the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Sea of Textures Stamp Set.

The SRC are a group of International Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to show you lots of creative ways to use your stamps.

I’m totally in love with this whole bundle; the stamps and the coordinating Under the Sea Framelits. It’s one of my favourites from the annual catalogue.

I had this idea to choose the colour palette first and then decide on the projects that I would make. It seemed like a great idea to pick the colours that had ‘beachy’ or ‘ocean’ names – Sahara Sand, Coastal Cabana, Bermuda Bay, Calypso Coral, Soft Sea Foam and Tranquil Tide. I was really pleased with the resulting colour combination and set about stamping and die cutting a variety of images using the 6 colours, plus adding some metallics to the mix.

Once all the pieces were in front of me, I looked for the coordinating colours in the Tranquil Textures DSP and chose the Soft Sea Foam and Tranquil Tide sheets.

As I only had one afternoon free before the ‘hop’ to make some cards, I decided to stick with a couple of familiar card folds (Pocket Card and Shadow Box) as well as a simple small gift card for a 3×3 mini envelope. I was really pleased with how the sea of colours looked together in the collection –

Here’s a little round up of some past Sea of Textures cards that I have made – two projects were from Kim Oliver’s Card Class – the Shaker Card and Diorama Card and I have written a tutorial for my Shadow Box Card.
