The Stamp Review Crew – Painted Harvest

Welcome to addinktive designs and the Stamp Review Crew Blog Hop featuring the Photopolymer Stamp Set, Painted Harvest.

Painted Harvest

The SRC are a group of International Stampin’ Up! Demonstrators who love to show you lots of creative ways to use your stamps.

If you get lost along the way just click on the banner above to take you to the main blog where you will see a list of participants for this round.

It’s been well over two months since I have hopped along with The Stamp Review Crew.  Life has kinda got in the way!  However, things are about to change; when this hop goes live I will only have 16 working days left before I retire from my day job as a Principal of a local  Christian school … but who’s counting? Me!!! As from 2018, my craft room will become my office.  I’m so excited!

Stampin’ Up! for me will switch from a hobby to a business venture.  Watch this space!

This stamp set has been in my stash since it was first released in September and because I have been crazy busy making project samples for On Stage in Melbourne, this set hadn’t seen ink until now.

Having eyed off so many beautiful projects made with Painted Harvest, I wasn’t sure what I could do to begin with that would be a little different.

For the first card, I went with an emboss resist technique for the background, a slightly different colour scheme for the ‘sunflowers’ and added some new Berry Burst Paper Ribbon. I just love how the feature flower turned out.

And then … I saw ‘golly doll hair‘ and couldn’t resist making this little fella –

Putting this golly doll together using some fun DSP and the Cookie Cutter Punch was a good excuse to put off the housework for another day. I figured the little ‘hedgehog’ that had exploded onto the Social Media of late, had seen plenty of limelight (although he’s still on my ‘to do list’) and was pleased to think of something new to share for the SRC Blog Hop!

A side note – I’m an Aussie and one of my favourite dolls was a golly which I still have stored away with lots of other childhood memorabilia.  Making this card brought back some fond childhood memories.  It is not intended to cause offence as golly dolls are still widely available to purchase in Australia, however, calling them by their original name isn’t considered appropriate.  Just move on if my card offends you. After all, I don’t get all upset if I see Halloween cards!

I hope my little, punch art, golly doll  made you smile and that you’ve been enjoying all the inspiration from the Painted Harvest projects as you hop between the crew member’s blogs.  Up next we have the talented, Karen Gooch
